What is porcelain?

When designing porcelain direction, according to usage requirement, a large number of fusing agent materials are added and the raw material used in direction produce less gas during baking process. In this way, after being baked, a few of hollow space occurs and there is enough glass phase to fill in them so that little air holes form accordingly. This kind of ceramics whose water absorption (E) is less than 0.5% comes to be known as porcelain.

Owing to higher glass phase contained in porcelain, it owns excellent light permeability, exquisite section, higher exquisite, thermal stability and chemical attack resistance. The fusing agent material added into direction must be at right amount otherwise too much glass phase forming will enhance brittleness of products and too little certainly will requires higher baking temperature when keeping water absorption of products below 0.5%. In this way a series of cost problems will occur.

Porcelain products of construction ceramics contain porcelain tile. When glass phase is too much, its strength reduces and disrepair is much higher when polishing. Contrarily, if glass phase is too little, its texture will be hard and wastage of grinding head will be large. Thereby, the direction should be appropriate.

Many sanitary ceramics manufacturers implement American Standard and the water absorption of their products is less than 0.5% so that their products are porcelain products as well.
